Don't Skimp on the Shrimp

A woman called 911 to report she didn't get as much shrimp as she wanted in her fried rice at a Texas restaurant. Haltom City police on Tuesday released the taped emergency call, in which the customer is heard telling the dispatcher "to get a police officer up here, what has to happen?" The customer also said: "He didn't even put extra shrimp in there." The upset customer had left the Fort Worth-area restaurant when an officer arrived Monday afternoon. Restaurant workers said the woman had been denied a refund after leaving with her order, then returning to complain. Cook June Lee said nothing was wrong with the meal, and that "some customers are happy. Some are not." ___ Information from Fort Worth Star-Telegram & KDFW-TV: www.star-telegram.com & www.myfoxdfw.com

Salty's Thoughts: If anything was Full Gump (no Gump Shrimp pun intended), this is it. Why is calling 911 to complain the new trend? It should hold a mandatory jail/Community Service sentance. That may stop these Gumps from dialing emergency over problems with food.

I'm all for 911 being called on the shrimp skimp. It's about time these restaurants are put on check for skimping on portions while inflating their price.

I'm sick and tired of leaving a restaurant still hungry while my wallet is empty, it's criminal, it's theft, highway robbery!

American's deserve better and if calling 911 gets it done, I'm all for it!
